Ross, Silver Receive Special Awards; 12 Bishops All-NCAC

Ohio Wesleyan University sophomore Henry Ross (Snoqualmie, Wash./Mount Si), and senior Wes Silver (Newton, Mass./Newton North) received special awards as part of the All-North Coast Athletic Conference men's lacrosse teams, it was announced today by the NCAC.

Ross, an attacker, was named Offensive Player of the Year and was a first-team All-NCAC choice.  Ross is the fourth Ohio Wesleyan player to receive the conference's Offensive Player of the Year recognition.

Silver, a defenseman, was named Defensive Player of the Year and was a first-team All-NCAC choice.  Silver is the fourth Ohio Wesleyan player to receive the conference's Defensive Player of the Year award.

Sophomore attacker Wade Beckstrom (Devon, Pa./Conestoga), senior long-stick midfielder Anthony Fresolone (Marblehead, Mass./Kimball Union Academy (N.H.)), and senior midfielder Joey Wiseman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) also were frst-team All-NCAC selections; junior attacker Carson Geier (Milford), senior midfielder Brady Hunt (Maineville/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy), junior defenseman Trey Weber (Castle Pines, Colo./Rock Canyon), and senior defensive midfielder Christian Wolter (New Canaan, Conn.) were second-team all-conference picks; and junior goalkeeper Nathan George (Gainesville, Va./Battlefield), junior midfielder Will Siegenthaler (Elmhurst, Ill./York), and junior midfielder Garrett Smith (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) were third-team all-conference choices.

Ross leads the league in points per game (4.41) and ranks second in the NCAC in points (75), third in goals (48), and fifth in assists (27).  Ross was a first-team All-NCAC selection for the second straight season.

Fresolone, George, Silver, Weber, Wolter are stalwarts on a Bishop defense that ranks third in the NCAC in goals-against average (9.50).  Individually, George ranks third among NCAC goalkeepers with a 10.06 goals-against average and fourth in saves percentage (.515).  Fresolone and Silver share the team lead in caused turnovers (22) and Fresolone leads Bishop defenders in ground balls (54).  Fresolone was a first-team all-conference pick for the second consecutive season, George was a first-team All-NCAC pick last year and a third-team all-conference choice in 2023, and Silver was a first-team All-NCAC selection in 2024, a second-team all-league pick in 2023 and an honorable mention all-conference choice in 2022.

Beckstrom ranks third in the conference in points (72) and fourth in assists (28) and is tied for fourth in the conference in goals (44).  Beckstrom was a first-team All-NCAC selection and the league's Newcomer of the Year last year.

Wiseman is tied for ninth in the NCAC in goals (37) this season.  Wiseman was a first-team All-NCAC pick and the league's Newcomer of the Year in 2022.

Geier is tied for fourth in the league in goals (44) and ranks sixth in points (58).  Geier was a third-team all-conference pick a year ago.

Hunt ranks sixth in the NCAC in assists (26).  Hunt was a third-team all-league selection in 2023.

Siegenthaler has compiled 26 goals and 12 assists this season.

Smith has collected 25 goals and 10 assists this season.  Smith was a second-team All-NCAC pick in 2023 and 2024.

Ohio Wesleyan is 15-3 on the season.  The Battling Bishops won the NCAC championship with an 8-0 record in conference play, won the NCAC tournament, and will compete in the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament against St. John Fisher (N.Y.) on Saturday.
