OBERLIN, Ohio – The 11th/8th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan University women's basketball team hit the road on Saturday to play at Oberlin. In the end, the Battling Bishops would breeze to their 16th-straight victory, winning 71-39.
OWU improves to 17-1 on the season and remains perfect in NCAC play at 8-0. Oberlin slips to 6-13 on the year and 2-6 in the conference.
The only time the Bishops found themselves behind was 4-2 at the 6:22-mark in the first quarter. Following that, the Red and Black went on a 15-4 run to finish the quarter ahead 17-8.
Maddie Ebbert led the charge with six.
In the second quarter, Ohio Wesleyan extended their lead to 19 by outscoring the Yeowomen 23-13, leading to a 40-21 halftime score. It was a combined effort with
Nora Johns and
Mia Guscoff in front with six points each in the quarter.
The second half was smooth sailing as the Battling Bishops poured it on with a 17-14 third quarter and a 14-4 fourth quarter to lead by 32 at the final buzzer, winning 71-39.
THE NUMBERS
All 18 Bishops got in the game, with 11 getting into the scorebook, three in double-digits.
Maddie Ebbert recorded a career-high 20 points to lead the Battling Bishops, also finishing with seven rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block.
Macy Miller ended the day with her 10th-straight double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds alongside one steal and one assist.
Nora Johns scored a career-high 13 points to go along with four rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
Mia Guscoff finished with nine points and one rebound.
Katie Neuhart tracked down a career-high eight rebounds in the first half alone. Additionally, she finished with two points and one assist.

Grace Heliger all scored two points each,
Carly Lehman had one.
