GAMBIER, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's swimming & diving team took one last chance to put up some fast times on Saturday at the Kenyon Fast Chance Invitational. The meet was not scored but it was a successful afternoon as multiple Battling Bishops turned in personal bests.
OWU would finish third in the 200 yard freestyle relay and fifth in the 200 yard medley relay.
Frannie Rhine,
Maddie Hoyt,
Bella Guzzetta, and
Anna Haines swam on both relays, turning in times of 1:49.83 in the free and 1:59.40 in the medley.
Hoyt turned in three personal bests in the 100 yard breaststroke, the 1650 yard freestyle, and the 1000 yard freestyle. She swam a 1:11.93 in the 100 breast, finishing 10th. Her 22:35.37 in the 1650 free was good for fifth – the first 1000 yards of which was a personal-best 13:35.49. Finally, Hoyt took seventh in the 200 breast with a 2:39.79.
Rhine recorded a new personal best in the 50 yard freestyle, swimming a 27.62 in the individual event and finishing 27th. She dropped that down to a 27.40 leading off the 200 free relay. Rhine also nabbed a personal best in the 100 yard individual medley, swimming a 1:12.62 and finishing seventh.
Avery Hudak had a personal best in the 100 yard breaststroke, finishing 12th with a 1:18.40. She also finished 13th in the 100 free with a time of 1:02.64.
Haines secured a personal best in the 100 yard individual medley with a 1:08.99, finishing fifth. She also swam a 27.23 in the 50 free, finishing 24th.
Guzzetta turned in a personal-best 1:00.06 for 11th in the 100 yard freestyle. She also swam a 27.13 in the 50 free for 23rd place.
Zoie Buck came in ninth in the 500 yard freestyle, swimming a 5:48.10.
MacKenzie Carter took 15th in the 50 yard freestyle with a 25.14. She also swam in the 100 back, finishing 11th with a time of 1:00.71.
Lillian Borofsky finished 16th in the 100 yard freestyle with a 1:08.84.
