HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's tennis team started off their spring break trip to Hilton Head with a win on Sunday afternoon, shutting out Immaculata 7-0.
OWU improves to 4-2 on the season, 2-2 in the spring with an 0-2 conference record. Immaculata drops to 4-2.
The Battling Bishops took the first point of the afternoon with three wins in doubles. The pair of
Mallory Hannan and
Lily Hershey secured a 6-2 win in match one.
Daniela Guzman and
Marissa Zaleski as well as
Frankie Nuss and
Emma Pzedpelski won 6-1 in matches two and three.
The Red and Black made quick work of the six singles matches, completing a clean sweep. Nuss and Guzman allowed their opponents just one game each, both winning 6-0, 6-1 in matches two and six. Pzedpelski and Garnett both tallied 6-1, 6-1 wins in matches four and five. Hannan nabbed a 6-1, 6-2 win in match one. Hershey secured a 6-4, 6-1 win in match three.
