DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's tennis team concluded their season on Saturday with a matchup at No. 4 Denison. The Battling Bishops struggled against the top-five squad, losing all seven points to the Big Red.
OWU finishes 6-13 on the season, with a 1-6 record in NCAC competition. Denison improves to 22-2 overall and remains perfect in conference play at 8-0.
The day started off with three losses in doubles play to give Denison one point.
Ian Tsai and
Kobe Francis dropped game one, 6-0. The tandem of
Marcus Bode and
Gabe Fogle took the court for game two, but fell 6-1.
Zach Heister and
Rainer Holl concluded doubles play for the Bishops, but ultimately lost 6-1.
Singles play yielded similar results, with Denison winning all six matches and claiming six more points. Tsai (6-3, 6-0), Fogle (6-1, 6-0), Francis (6-1, 6-1), Bode (6-1, 6-2), Holl (6-0, 6-1), and Heister (6-1, 6-1) all suffered straight-set defeats. The Big Red secured the sweep against the Bishops, 7-0.
