Strength and Conditioning General Responsibilities
  • Be a supporter of Ohio Wesleyan University and the OWU athletic program
  • Look, act and be professional
  • Work hard!
  • Wear OWU assigned gear when on duty
  • Keep reception space and facility “presentable and recruiting ready” 100% of the time
  • All communication regarding issues must go through the Strength and Conditioning Room Coordinator
  • At all times, demonstrate courtesy toward others in the strength and conditioning room
  • Report any strength and conditioning room related injuries on the injury report form and to Strength and Conditioning Room Coordinator as soon as possible
  • If you recommend the use of steroids or an illegal substance to any athlete or member, you will be terminated
  • Be alert for bars that are not properly loaded, or any other potential risks of injury
  • Never allow weights to be out of place
  • Profanity and foul language will not be tolerated
  • Assist in the general maintenance and cleaning of the strength and conditioning room and equipment
  • Learn emergency procedures
  • Enforce OWU Strength and Conditioning Room policies and rules at all times
  • Be on time. THIS IS NOT NEGOTIABLE. If you are to be late, you must call the work-study supervisor as well as the Strength and Conditioning Room Coordinator
  • Maintain a POSITIVE ATTITUDE at all times
  • Question and be critical behind closed doors - Support and back 100% outside those doors
  • Teach and train the student-athletes and members to pick up after themselves
  • If you fail to train the athletes to pick up after themselves, you must pick up after your athletes
  • Provide ample notice for time off and more if you will be gone more than one day
  • Never allow anyone else to sit or hang around the reception desk
  • If you find something dirty … clean it
  • If you find something broken … fix it or report it
  • TAKE INITIATIVE AND BE RESPONSIBLE
