Michael Blatchford is in his second season as a member of the Ohio Wesleyan baseball coaching staff.
He served as the hitting coach for the Southern Ohio Copperheads in the Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League in 2019, helping the Copperheads finish the season with the second-ranked offense in the GLSCL.
During his Battling Bishop career, he was a 3-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection. In 2018, he led the league in batting and doubles and ranked second in on-base percentage and fifth in slugging percentage on the way to second-team all-region honors. He majored in economics and minored in Spanish, and received Top 50 and Top 10 Awards for his academic success and impact upon his family, team, the University, and the Delaware community.
Blatchford continued his playing career with the Gary South Shore RailCats in the American Association of Professional Baseball in 2019.
He is OnBaseU and TPI Certified. Blatchford is a native of Shaker Heights, Ohio.
