Hannah Allison, assistant field hockey coach at Ohio Wesleyan University, has been named interim head field hockey coach, it was announced by athletics director Roger Ingles.

Marge Redmond, formerly the Ohio Wesleyan head field hockey coach, will serve as assistant field hockey coach.  Redmond also will take on additional responsibilities in her role as Ohio Wesleyan's senior woman administrator and with Ohio Wesleyan's department of health and human kinetics.

"I'm very excited about this opportunity," Allison said.  "I think Marge is a great role model, and that she and I work well together.  I think I'm ready for the transition.  She's been helping me a lot already, and I know she'll be there whenever I need her."

"We're absolutely thrilled to have someone of Hannah's skills and ability on staff and ready to take over this program," Ingles said.  "Her playing experience and coaching experience here has been outstanding, and I think she will be an outstanding head coach."

"I'm excited for Hannah," Redmond said.  "She's proven herself a capable and excellent person to step into the coaching role.  She has a genuine concern about the players, and it makes it easier to turn over the program to someone with the same philosophy."

Allison joined the Ohio Wesleyan staff in 2013.  She helped the Bishops compile a 6-11 record, including a mark of 4-10 in North Coast Athletic Conference competition.  Allison graduated from Penn State in 2013.  She was a 4-year letterwinner for the Nittany Lions, serving as team captain and helping the team win a pair of Big Ten championships as well as a pair of Big Ten tournament titles.  She is a native of Mifflinburg, Pa.
