Joe May is in his first season as an assistant men's lacrosse coach at Ohio Wesleyan University.
May comes to Ohio Wesleyan from Plattsburgh (N.Y.) State, where he served as the Cardinals' top assistant coach for 3 seasons. He served as defensive coordinator, the lead recruiting coordinator, and the team's academic coordinator. During his 3 seasons at Plattsburgh, the Cardinals compiled 37 wins, finished second or third in the State University of New York Athletic Conference each year, and were ranked as high as No. 16 in the USILA Division III poll. While at Plattsburgh, he continued his education, earning his master's degree in student affairs.
May is a 2011 graduate of Geneseo (N.Y.) State. He was a 2-time All-America selection at Geneseo, twice earning first-team all-conference honors, and completed his career with an appearance at the North-South All-Star game. He majored in psychology and was a member of the SUNYAC All-Academic team.
May is a native of Homer, N.Y.
