Rodney Tapp is in his third season as a member of the Ohio Wesleyan men's lacrosse coaching staff.
Tapp came to Ohio Wesleyan from Owen Sound, Ontario, where he served as head coach at Owen Sound District Secondary School. He began coaching in Owen Sound in 2006 and coached both field and box lacrosse at various levels, including U-17 selects, junior, midget, and bantam. Tapp also has 3 years of high school coaching experience in the United States at Billerica (Mass.) Memorial High School.
He is a Level 2-certified coach by Canada's National Coaching Certification Program in field and box lacrosse.
Tapp began his collegiate career at Whittier College, where he was a 2-time USILA all-star selection. He continued his education at Douglas College, Villa Julie College, and Towson University.
He continued his playing career with the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse and recorded stints in both the Major Indoor Lacrosse League and the National Lacrosse League, suiting up for the Boston Blazers, Syracuse Smash, Baltimore Thunder, Pittsburgh Crosse-Fire, Washington Power, Rochester Knighthawks, Columbus Landsharks, and Arizona Sting.
Tapp also was a member of Team Canada from 1994-2002. He was part of teams that were inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2008 and 2011, was a member of a Brogden Cup championship team in 1999, and was a member of 3 MANN Cup championship teams.
He is a native of St. Catharines, Ontario.
