Lance Shearer

Lance Shearer is in his fourth season as director of tennis at Ohio Wesleyan University, overseeing both the men's and women's tennis teams.

In 2023-24, the Battling Bishop women compiled a 7-9 record and placed sixth in the North Coast Athletic Conference standings, while the Bishop men were 7-10 overall and finished seventh in the NCAC standings.

Shearer came to Ohio Wesleyan from Buckeye Valley High School, where he was the Barons' tennis coach for 4 years.  Prior to coaching at Buckeye Valley, he was an AAU/traveling team coach in central Ohio for 12 years, with 23 of his players going on to play at the collegiate level.

He is a 1992 graduate of Heidelberg College, majoring in public administration.  During his career with the Student Princes, he was a 4-year letterman in tennis and played basketball and lacrosse.  He continued his education at the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University.  In December 2023, Shearer graduated from the FBI National Academy.

Shearer is a native of Delaware, Ohio.
