John Lintz

 

John Lintz is in his third season as an assistant track & field coach at Ohio Wesleyan University.  He works with the pole vaulters, middle-distance runners, and multi-event athletes.  Lintz also serves as assistant cross country coach.

Last year, Lintz he coached a national qualifier in the pole vault and guided Bishop pole vaulters to a 1-3 finish at both North Coast Athletic Conference indoor and outdoor championship meets.

During his first season at Ohio Wesleyan, he coached an All-American in the pole vault, and guided Bishop pole vaulters to a 1-2 finish at both North Coast Athletic Conference indoor and outdoor championship meets.

In his first season with the Bishop cross country team, Lintz helped guide the Battling Bishop women's team to its first NCAA Division III championship appearance since 1982.

He came to Ohio Wesleyan from The Ohio State University, where he spent 2 seasons as a volunteer assistant coach, working with the Buckeye pole vaulters.  He helped the Buckeye women's team win a Big Ten championship.

Prior to his stint at Ohio State, Lintz spent 6 seasons at Otterbein University as head cross country coach and assistant track & field coach.  He had 2 cross country teams place in the top 10 in the Great Lakes Region with 4 All-Great Lakes Region runners.  He coached 4 NCAA qualifiers and 2 All-Americans in the pole vault, including the 2005 indoor national champion.

Lintz is a 2005 graduate of Otterbein.  He continued his education at Otterbein, earning a master of arts in education degree in education curriculum in 2011.

Lintz is a native of Englewood, Ohio.  He and his wife, Susanne, and their daughters, Sarah and Caroline, live in Delaware.
