Ohio Wesleyan University Athletics

Matt Bergmeyer is in his fourth season as an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Bergmeyer came to Ohio Wesleyan from Muskingum University, where he was a graduate assistant for 2 seasons.  During his time at Muskingum, he helped the Muskies record their first NCAA Division III national qualifier in more than a decade.  Muskingum also had multiple student-athletes place at the NCAA Division III Central Regional tournament as well as win Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors.  Bergmeyer also was responsible for social media content and recruiting for the Muskies.

He began his coaching career as a student assistant at the University of Mount Union, where he was part of 2 OAC championship teams and assisted in coaching an NCAA Division III national qualifier and multiple all-conference honorees.  He also coached at North Canton Hoover High School, where he assisted in coaching multiple OHSAA Division I state placers.

Bergmeyer is a 2017 graduate of Mount Union.  He majored in English and continued his education at Muskingum, earning his master's degree in education.
