Ohio Wesleyan University Vice President for Marketing & Communications Dr. Phokeng Dailey, in collaboration with Athletics Director Doug Zipp, announced the addition of Brendan Eagan this week, assuming the role of Sports Information Director.

Eagan arrives at OWU after spending the past four years as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Capital University in Columbus. At Capital, Eagan assisted with communications operations for the Comets' 22 varsity athletic programs in addition to serving as the lead graphic designer and social media coordinator for the department.

Eagan is an active member of College Sports Communicators and was recognized seven times by CSC in 2025-26 for his work in the areas of creative and digital design.

"I would like to thank Dr. Phokeng Dailey, Doug Zipp, and everyone involved in the search process for their confidence in me," said Eagan. "I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to be a Bishop and am excited to get started. There is so much history here at Ohio Wesleyan, and I cannot wait to share the stories of OWU's student-athletes and coaches as they write the next chapter."

"I was incredibly impressed by Brendan's background and the depth of experience he brings to the role," said Dr. Dailey. "What truly set him apart, though, were the glowing endorsements from former colleagues and partners from other colleges/universities. They spoke not only to his professionalism and skill, but also to the kind of partner he has been. I am excited to welcome him to the Marketing & Communications team and am confident he will make an impact in telling the story of OWU Athletics."

"We are excited to welcome Brendan to the OWU Athletics family as our new Sports Information Director," said Zipp. “From the moment we met with him, his energy, creativity, and enthusiasm stood out. Brendan brings the skills and vision to elevate our brand and enhance our social media presence, while also sharing the Battling Bishops’ story through the achievements of our student-athletes — both in competition and beyond."

Eagan is a 2022 graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Sport Industry, focused in Communication Technology.
