Ohio Wesleyan University junior Haley Savoie (San Diego, Calif./Del Norte) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 26, it was announced by the NCAC.
Savoie, a midfielder on the Ohio Wesleyan field hockey team, was named Field Hockey Player of the Week.
Savoie set up the goal that tied the game at 2-2 and then scored the game-winner in overtime to give Ohio Wesleyan a 3-2 win over Wooster on Wednesday. On Friday, she scored with 5:19 left in regulation time to tie the game at 1-1, with Ohio Wesleyan going on to defeat Oberlin, 2-1, in overtime. The 2 wins moved Ohio Wesleyan into a tie for fourth place in the NCAC, keeping the Bishops in the race for a spot in the NCAC tournament going into the final week of the regular season.
