Meet the Bishops:  Get to know a little about Ellie Redman of the Ohio Wesleyan women's soccer team.

Name:  Ellie Redman

Class year:  Freshman

Major: Middle childhood education

How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose Ohio Wesleyan for the liberal arts education and to play soccer.  The first time I visited OWU I fell in love with the campus, I felt like I was home.  Being able to get a liberal arts education while also playing soccer was the selling point for me.

How/Why did you choose your major?
When I was a little girl, I played "school" in my basement, and when I got to high school I was able to do a program where I taught in different classrooms throughout Dublin City Schools. After being in that program, I fell in love with teaching middle school kids and knew I wanted to be a middle-childhood educator.

Why did you choose to compete in sports at Ohio Wesleyan?
I have been playing soccer since I was about 4 so it has always been a huge part of my life. Going to OWU would allow me to get a great education as well as still keep soccer in my life. I also loved the vibe of the team and coaches.

What is your number one goal, personal or team, for this season?
A goal that we have as a team this year is to really focus on our team values that we all worked together to create at the beginning of the season and incorporate them into our practices, games, and outside of the soccer field.  By focusing on these values, we hope that it will help us achieve a winning season.

What event/sport other than your own would you like to try?
I would really like to try running track.

Is there a specific coach or teammate who has helped you get to where you are?
One of my best friends, Caleigh, who I met freshman year of high school at tryouts, has always pushed me to be a better soccer player and to not let obstacles get in my way.  She also taught me the importance of hard work and never giving up on the sport that you love.  If it wasn't for her, I don't think I would be playing collegiate soccer today.

Which reality show would you like to star on and why?
Keeping up with the Kardashians!  It is my favorite reality TV show and I think they are all so funny.  Who wouldn't want to be a Kardashian?

What is your theme song?
Shower by Becky G

Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with?
A$AP Rocky, Barack Obama, Jesus
