Meet the Bishops: Get to know a little about Olivia Adkins of the Ohio Wesleyan women's soccer team.
Name: Olivia Adkins
Class year: Sophomore
Major: Undeclared
Minor: Spanish
How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
It's a beautiful campus with a friendly atmosphere. I wanted a small school where I could have a good learning experience and a competitive atmosphere on the soccer field.
How/Why did you choose your major?
In the future, I am interested in a graduate degree or going to med school since the sciences have always been interesting to me.
What is your favorite memory on an Ohio Wesleyan team?
The celebration on the bus ride home after beating the Cayman Islands national team while on our team trip there. It was super fun.
Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions?
I always read a letter my family wrote to me before coming to school before games to remind me of the support back home along with some good jams and dancing.
How/why did you choose your position?
I like to see the whole field and be a part of as much activity as possible, therefore being a midfielder suits me well.
What are your strengths as an athlete (as an individual)?
I am pretty personable I would say, someone who's not too intimidating and can be there for people when they need it. That being said, a strength for me as an athlete would probably be my physicality and intensity during competitions.
If you could have superpower, what would it be?
I would have the power to fly so that I wouldn’t have to sit in traffic anymore.
What is your favorite place to eat in Delaware, and what is your go-to dish there?
I have an obsession with Starbucks if I am being honest but besides that place, Smohked is a restaurant with wings from Heaven. I highly recommend.
