Meet the Bishops:  Get to know a little about Adam Yingling of the Ohio Wesleyan men's soccer team.

Name:  Adam Yingling

Class year:  Senior

Major:  Finance Economics

Minor: Accounting

How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
Predominantly for the successful men’s soccer program and Jay Martin. There were a couple people I knew and respected from my soccer career that sold me on the idea of coming to OWU to grow as an athlete and win, but more importantly as a person through the lessons learned playing under Jay. I also favored OWU to that of a Division I program because it allows me to have a life outside of soccer and be successful in the classroom while still treating the program as if it were that level.

How/Why did you choose your major?
I didn’t really know what I wanted to do as a freshman and leaned towards business. From my time learning about career opportunities in the Economics Management Fellowship program that first year, I ended up choosing Finance Economics for its versatility as a degree.

Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions?
I typically foam roll and stretch, listen to music, and visualize if I have any extra time.

What is your favorite memory on an Ohio Wesleyan team?
The OWUMS Germany Trip and beating Kenyon in the NCAC Championship at their place.

How/why did you choose your event/position?
I have always played on the offensive side of the team and play a similar role for OWU as a forward/attacking midfielder.

What are your strengths as an athlete (as an individual)?
I am creative, deceptive and quick. Combination play and a technical styles suit my abilities best. I score goals and set them up, that's my role. I also pride myself on being one of the fittest players on the field.

Early bird or night owl?
Night owl, no doubt.

If you could make one law, what would it be?
Force every nation to ratify the Paris Agreement to maintain global climate change under a 1.5 degrees Celsuis rise.

What is your ideal travel destination?
New Zealand. Snow and surf all in one place.
