How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose OWU so that I could pursue a fantastic STEM education while also being able to compete at the D3 level for field hockey! OWU also has a really great connection with LECOM (Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine), so I was able to apply to their Early Access Program coming in as a freshman at OWU and start focusing on getting into med school ahead of time!
How/why did you choose your major?
I have always been gifted when it comes to maths and sciences, but I have also always wanted to be a doctor since my little sister was sick at a very young age.
Why did you choose to compete in sports at Ohio Wesleyan?
I LOVE playing field hockey and Coach (Brenda) Semit made the team really accessible to me, and all the current players were so nice and welcoming towards me and the other freshmen!
What are your strengths as an athlete (as an individual)?
I am hard-working (I put in effort on and off the field), I am communicative with my teammates, I am very determined (and stubborn - in a good way!), and I am good at finding ways to bring my faith into all aspects of my life!
What is your number one goal, personal or team, for this season?
My number one goal is to grow mentally and physically so that I can be here 100 percent for my team!
What event/sport other than your own would you like to try?
I think it would be really cool to try lacrosse since my roommate is the women’s lax goalie. I also used to play when I was really young, so it would be interesting to see how much I still remember!
What athletic or academic achievement/accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the fact that I got accepted into the LECOM early access program! My goal is to work as an orthopedic surgeon in the future, and this is the first step of many to get there!
Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with?
I would like to share a meal with my great-grandma Muzzy, Jesus, and Michael Scott from The Office.
What is your ideal travel destination?
My ideal travel destination is Arnstein, Germany, so that I can visit my family there! Germany is honestly so beautiful (it is so cool seeing the modern mixed with the historic in the buildings), and being in Europe allows for you to have fairly easy access to other countries too so I could visit my teammates Astrid and Puck in the Netherlands while I am there!
If you could visit another time, when would it be and why?
I would love to visit the early 2000s because it was so fun and I would love to experience it as an adult!
