Name:  Allison Dietz

Class year:  2027

Majors:  Psychology and philosophy

Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I felt that there were a lot of opportunities to explore my interests.  Also, the campus and team environment felt like places I could succeed as a student and an athlete.

Why did you choose your majors?
I have always wanted to work with people and psychology allows me to have a direct impact on those around me.

What is your favorite memory on an Ohio Wesleyan team?
My favorite memory is running at Delaware State Park with the team and going to the beach after.

Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions?
I always braid my hair for races.

What athletic or academic achievement/accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am most proud of finishing fourth at the (North Coast Athletic Conference) meet in the 1500-meter run and setting a new personal best.  It was such a fun race and I loved getting to contribute to our team’s third-place overall finish through that.

What did you do to put yourself in position to achieve that?
I allowed myself to be motivated by the people around me and let go of anything I cannot control.

What did you study on your OWU Connection trip?  Which experience(s) of your trip were the most memorable, and how did they affect you?
I went to Washington, D.C., for a conference as part of a research project and it was incredible to meet people from all over the country and explore D.C.

Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with?
Pope St. John Paul II, Eliud Kipchoge, and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone

What is your favorite place that you have traveled to as an OWU student-athlete?
Rock Island, Illinois

What is your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is "Pride and Prejudice" because the story is timeless and well-written.
