...I have an interest in the media and journalism fields, and these allow me to gain exposure to all aspects of that, as well as give me options for future career opportunities!...

Name:  Addie Beck

Class year:  2027

Majors:  English: literature, communication, and film studies

Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose OWU for its small class size, wonderful people, and the track team!

Why did you choose your majors?
I chose my majors because I have an interest in the media and journalism fields, and these allow me to gain exposure to all aspects of that, as well as give me options for future career opportunities!

Why did you choose to compete in sports at Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose to compete in sports at Ohio Wesleyan because of the team culture and environment of the women's track team here.  I knew that I wasn't done after high school and the team at OWU had exactly what I was looking for.

What is your number one goal, personal or team, for this season?
My goal for the team is to win outdoor conference!

What event/sport other than your own would you like to try?
If I were to try another event, I would probably try hurdles!

What athletic or academic achievement/accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am most proud of placing third in the pole vault at indoor conference this year!

What did you do to put yourself in position to achieve that?
I trained hard during preseason and allowed myself to compete and have fun.  My best performances come when I find joy in the sport!  I love competing with my teammates and the environment at conference made for the perfect opportunity to succeed.

What is your theme song and why?
My theme song is probably "Downtown" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.  This song gets me hyped up to compete, or to just take on the day!

What is your ideal travel destination?
My ideal travel destination would probably be a city.  There is always so much to do and I love the excitement and culture!

What is your favorite season and why?
My favorite season is fall because it is the perfect weather, the leaves are beautiful, and I love the fall flavors!
