Ohio Wesleyan University freshman Sarah Alflen (Avon Lake) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 18, it was announced by the NCAC.

Alflen, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan women's track & field team, was named Women's Field Event Performer of the Week.

Alflen won the shot put with a throw of 37-9 in helping Ohio Wesleyan to a second-place finish at the Kenyon Classic on Saturday.
