Stegner's 2 Goals Help Bishops Top Terriers

Freshman forward Jon Stegner (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) scored twice to give sixth-ranked Ohio Wesleyan the lead, and the Bishops went on to defeat Hiram in a North Coast Athletic Conference game on Saturday in Hiram.

The Bishops jumped to an early lead in the fourth minute. Ohio Wesleyan had earned a corner kick, and the ball was loose in the Hiram end when Stegner jumped on it and deposited it into the back of the Terrier net.

Ohio Wesleyan increased its lead early in the second half on a similar play, with Stegner pouncing on a loose ball and knocking it home for a 2-0 lead.

Junior forward Travis Wall (Columbus/Upper Arlington) wrapped up the evening's scoring in 76th minute, fielding a corner kick from junior midfielder Dylan Stone (Easton, Conn./Barlow) and scoring to make it 3-0.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Hiram, 15-6. Sophomore Paul Hendricks (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) made 1 save in recording the shutout in the Ohio Wesleyan goal. Joe Rottinger recorded 5 saves for the Terriers.
