Ohio Wesleyan 3, Heidelberg 2

Senior back Kit North (Powell/Bishop Watterson) scored twice and junior midfielder Jon Stegner (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) tallied the game-winning goal to give 23rd-ranked Ohio Wesleyan a non-conference decision over Heidelberg in non-conference action on Saturday in Tiffin.

North staked the Bishops to a 1-0 lead by converting a penalty kick in the 13th minute.

The Student Princes evened the game at 1-1 midway through the first half when Ryan Smith lobbed the ball over senior goalkeeper Paul Hendricks (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) and into the net.

Ohio Wesleyan took the lead in the 39th minute after the Bishops had earned a corner kick.  Junior midfielder Ian O'Keefe (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) sent the ball into the box to sophomore midfielder Colton Bloecher (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange), who headed the ball on to North, who finished the play with a header for a 2-1 advantage.

Heidelberg tied the game at 2-2 on Cole Tonti's penalty kick in the 51st minute.

Stegner's game-winner came in the 59th minute when he headed home a pass from O'Keefe.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Heidelberg, 24-12.  Hendricks recorded 3 saves in the Ohio Wesleyan goal, and Matthew Stevens finished with 5 saves in the Student Prince goal.
