Box Score
DePauw 65, Ohio Wesleyan 63

Junior guard Taylor Rieger (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) scored to tie the game at 63 with 1:12 left in overtime, but DePauw got a pair of free throws with :05 left to nip 22nd-ranked Ohio Wesleyan in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday in Greencastle, Ind.

Adam Botts sank a pair of free throws to give DePauw a 63-61 lead with 2:25 left in overtime, but Rieger hit a jumper at the 1:12 mark to even matters at 63 apiece.

After a DePauw miss, Michael Wilkison stole the ball from senior wing Vaughn Spaulding (Reynoldsburg) with :29 left.  Connor Rich was fouled with :05 to play and sank both shots for a 65-63 lead.

Rieger was able to get off a potential game-winning 3-pointer, but his shot was off the mark.

Ohio Wesleyan had taken the lead with an 11-2 run midway through the first half, getting a pair of free throws and a pair of baskets from senior guard Andy Winters (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) along with a Rieger 3-pointer and a lay-in from junior wing Dre White (Lima/Bath) to turn an 11-8 deficit into a 19-13 lead with 8:01 remaining in the period.

DePauw came back to tie the game at 43 after Botts and Flynn each hit a pair of free throws, but a pair of Rieger 3-pointers and a Winters 3-point play helped Ohio Wesleyan to a 58-48 lead, the Bishops' biggest of the game, with 4:15 left in regulation time.

The Bishops still led, 61-51, after Rieger's 3-pointer with 3:06 remaining, but DePauw rallied to tie the game.  Flynn scored on a putback, and after a Bishop miss, it was Flynn with another jumper to bring the Tigers within 61-55 with 2:11 remaining.

Flynn missed a pair of free throws at the 1:14 mark, but Pat Haggin rebounded the second for DePauw, and Flynn scored with 1:07 left to make it 61-57.

The Bishops then found themselves in the unusual scenario of having the ball and a 4-point lead with a minute to play and yet not attempting a shot of any kind during the remainder of regulation time.

With :55 left in regulation time, Kevin Sullivan stole the ball from Winters, with an intentional foul called on freshman post Claude Gray (Avon) and Spaulding assessed a technical foul.  Wilkison hit both free throws on the technical, then Sullivan hit both free throws from the original foul to tie the game at 61.  On the ensuing DePauw possession, Wilkison missed a 3-pointer and Botts corralled the rebound, and Flynn missed a jumper with :05 left.

Senior post Marshall Morris (Tulsa, Okla./Jenks) grabbed the final rebound, but there was not enough time for the Bishops to get off a shot before the buzzer, sending the game into overtime.

Rieger led the Bishops with 23 points, connecting on 7 of 10 shots from downtown.  Winters finished with 14 points and 6 assists, and Morris had 11 points and 7 rebounds.

Flynn led DePauw with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
