The win raised Ohio Wesleyan's NCAC record to 4-0, keeping the Bishops in a tie for first place with Wooster in the conference standings.

Wittenberg led, 6-4, when a basket by senior post Marshall Morris (Tulsa, Okla./Jenks) evened the score and a 3-pointer from Rieger put the Bishops ahead to stay.  Morris added a lay-in, Winters split a pair of free throws, and a Morris free throw on a Wittenberg technical foul capped a 9-0 run that gave Ohio Wesleyan a 13-6 lead.

The Tigers closed the gap with 3-pointers from Cole Bond and Steven Newell, and when Alex Fultz followed with a pair of free throws and a lay-in, the hosts had pulled to within 35-34 with :48 to play.

Winters drew a foul with :01 on the clock and sank both free throws to end the half, and the Bishops opened the second half with a Morris lay-in and a pair of free throws from senior wing Vaughn Spaulding (Reynoldsburg).
