Senior middle hitter Tamra Londot (Utica) posted a double-digit effort in kills to lead the Ohio Wesleyan offense in a non-conference match against Anderson on Saturday in Anderson, Ind.

The Ravens defeated the Bishops by scores of 29-27, 25-19, 25-19.  In Ohio Wesleyan's first match of the day, the Bishops stormed back from a 2-sets-to-none deficit, but Franklin held on to defeat Ohio Wesleyan by scores of 25-18, 25-20, 24-26, 17-25, 15-11.

Anderson took a 3-1 lead in the first set, but kills by Londot and sophomore middle hitter Meigan Day (Port Clinton) evened the score at 3-3, and from there, neither team led by more than 2 points.  The Bishops took an 8-6 lead on a service ace by senior defensive specialist Emily Stewart (East Palestine), and led, 12-10, after consecutive kills from senior outside hitter Katie Fain (Vandalia/Butler), but Anderson rallied for a 16-14 lead on a Sarah Hales kill.  Ohio Wesleyan battled back to take a 22-20 lead on a Londot block, and the Bishops were in position to win the set after Londot and freshman right-side hitter Kacy Gurewitz (San Ramon, Calif./Dougherty Valley) combined on a block that gave Ohio Wesleyan a 24-23 lead.  Anderson stayed alive with a kill from Katie File, and the teams traded points thrice before Taylor Stone's kill gave Anderson a 28-27 lead, and Riley Troyer followed with a service ace to end the set.

The Bishops broke a 4-4 tie with 3 straight points in the second set, with Stewart zipping another service ace during that run, but the Ravens rallied to tie the set at 8-8 on File's kill.  After a run in which the teams traded points 7 times, leaving the set deadlocked at 15, Anderson took the lead for good with a 3-0 run that included back-to-back aces from Krissy Whiteley.  Ohio Wesleyan closed to within 20-19, but the Ravens scored the last 5 points to finish off the set.

Kills by Fain, Londot, and Day helped Ohio Wesleyan to a 4-1 lead in the third set, but Anderson used an 8-0 burst to take a 12-6 lead, with Becca Hales collecting a pair of service aces along the way.  The Bishops pared the deficit to 12-9 with the help of a Day kill and a block by freshman setter Shannon Schlater (Englewood/Northmont), and Ohio Wesleyan was still within 20-17 after Day and Fain combined on a block and sophomore libero Danielle Birney (Toledo/Sylvania Southview) followed with a service ace, but Courtney Carver collected 3 kills down the stretch for Anderson as the Ravens closed out the set and the match.
