Ohio Wesleyan University senior Mason Espinosa (Cookeville, Tenn.) has been invited to compete in the FCS Senior Scout Bowl, scheduled for Saturday in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Espinosa, the Battling Bishops' quarterback, garnered the invitation after receiving Overall Most Valuable Player honors in the National Bowl last Saturday.  Espinosa guided the Red Nation team to a 40-26 win in that contest.

Espinosa ranks fifth in NCAA Division III in passing yards (325.5/game) and 18th in total offense (314.6 yards/game).  He finished his Ohio Wesleyan career with 11,072 yards passing and 10,842 yards total offense, ranking 13th and 17th on the respective NCAA Division III career lists.  Espinosa holds Ohio Wesleyan and North Coast Athletic Conference career records for passes attempted and completed as well as passing yards and total yards.  Ohio Wesleyan ranks sixth in NCAA Division III in passing (336.3 yards/game).

The FCS Senior Scout Bowl is a postseason scouting opportunity for Division I-FCS players, similar to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.  The contest is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach.
