Senior outside hitter Katie Fain (Vandalia/Butler) led the Ohio Wesleyan offense, but Allegheny and Westminster each defeated the Bishops in 3 sets on Saturday in Meadville, Pa.

Allegheny defeated the Bishops by scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-16 in the North Coast Athletic Conference opener for both teams.  Westminster then defeated Ohio Wesleyan by scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-23.

Fain collected 7 kills and senior middle hitter Tamra Londot (Utica) and freshman outside hitter McKenna Kasper (Chagrin Falls/Hawken School) added 5 apiece against Allegheny.  Freshman setter Shannon Schlater (Englewood/Northmont) dished out 19 assists.

Defensive leaders for Ohio Wesleyan included Fain and Londot with a block apiece, and sophomore defensive specialist Bridget Haag (Parma/Normandy) with a team-high 10 digs.

Against Westminster, Fain and Londot led the Bishops with 7 kills apiece, while freshman outside hitter Mercedez Wood (Alliance/Marlington) followed with 6 kills.  Schlater finished with 22 assists.

Wood led the Bishop defense with 2 blocks, and sophomore libero Danielle Birney (Toledo/Sylvania Southview) had a team-high 15 digs.
