Ohio Wesleyan University will open its 2015 football season against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in the first year of a 2-year agreement, it was announced by athletics director Roger Ingles.
The Battling Bishops will host the Crusaders at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at Selby Stadium, and will open the 2016 season on Sept. 3 in Belton, Texas.
The 2015 matchup will be Ohio Wesleyan's first game against a team from the state of Texas, and the 2016 game will mark the Bishop football team's first trip to Texas.
Mary Hardin-Baylor has made 10 consecutive NCAA Division III playoff appearances, the second-longest active streak in the nation. The Crusaders' 24 playoff wins ranks sixth all-time in NCAA Division III.
"We're excited to start off the year with one of the best teams in the country," said Bishop head coach Tom Watts. "We always want to give our student-athletes at Ohio Wesleyan a great experience, and now they'll have the opportunity to compete at the highest level."
