Rieger connected early in the overtime session, chipping a 15-yarder past Lion goalkeeper Colton Smith 3:49 into overtime.
Penn State-Behrend had the game's first shot, with Jimmy Belack testing senior goalkeeper Colin Beemiller (Pickerington/North) in the first minute, but Beemiller recorded the save.
Senior forward Colton Bloecher (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) gave Ohio Wesleyan the lead, taking a pass from junior forward Matt Cohen (Cincinnati/Seven Hills) and launching a 30-yard shot past PSU-B keeper Jarrod Wassell in the 18th minute.
Sophomore forward Kyle Baum (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) had a look at increasing the Ohio Wesleyan lead midway through the half, but Wassell was there for the save.
The Lions evened the game at 1-1 on Sean Polosky's unassisted goal in the 31st minute.
Ohio Wesleyan answered less than 2 minutes later when junior back Matt DiCesare (Westerville/St. Francis DeSales) sent the ball to junior midfielder Gunnar Bloecher (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) in the right side of the box, with Bloecher finishing the chance for a 2-1 Bishop lead with 11:22 left in the half.
Beemiller protected the lead with a save off a shot by Christian Harrington in the 35th minute, but Penn State-Behrend had better luck on its next chance, pulling even in the waning minutes of the half as Evan Augustine sent the ball in to Kyle Beckett, who deflected it into the net with 1:01 to play in the period.
The Bishops had a chance in the 63rd minute after earning a corner kick, but senior back Drew Pang (Dublin/Coffman) had his header sail high.
Colton Bloecher put a shot on goal in the 71st minute, but Smith made the save to keep the game deadlocked.
Beemiller kept the game going with a pair of saves of shots by Anthony Crivelli, the first in the 86th minute and the second with :25 left in regulation time.
The Bishops nearly ended the game just over a minute into the extra session. The Bishops had earned a corner kick, and Pang's header was cleared off the line by the Lion defense.
Ohio Wesleyan outshot Penn State-Behrend, 16-10. Beemiller finished with 4 saves. Wassell and Smith each made one save in the Lion goal.
