Box Score
Ohio Wesleyan 78, Kenyon 67

Freshman guard Seth Clark (Lewis Center/Olentangy) and sophomore post Claude Gray (Avon) tallied 6 points apiece during a 14-2 run that gave Ohio Wesleyan the lead, and senior post Reuel Rogers (Columbus/Bexley) had 9 points during an 11-2 spurt later in the half as the Bishops pulled away for a win over Kenyon in a North Coast Athletic Conference matchup on Tuesday at Branch Rickey Arena.

Ohio Wesleyan, the tournament's No. 4 seed, advances to play top-seeded Wooster in a semifinal contest at 8 p.m. on Friday at Wooster.  That game will be preceded by second-seeded DePauw against third-seeded Wittenberg at 6 p.m.  The semifinal winners will play at 7 p.m. on Saturday for the NCAC tournament championship and the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III tournament.

The win was the 20th of the season for the Bishops, with the third consecutive 20-win season an Ohio Wesleyan first.

The Lords took an early lead on a Julian Pavlin 3-pointer, but Ohio Wesleyan stormed right back with the 14-2 run, with Clark sinking a jumper on the Bishops' ensuing possession, then draining a pair of free throws.  Back-to-back Gray 3-pointers gave the Bishops a 10-3 lead, and a Clark hoop and a pair of free throws by senior guard Taylor Rieger (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) made it 14-5 with 14:17 left in the first half.

Ohio Wesleyan led by a 27-17 count with less than 7 minutes to play in the period when Rogers scored on a putback to kick off the Bishops' 11-2 run.  After a pair of Clark free throws, Rogers scored on a thunderous fast-break dunk, hit a lay-in off a Clark feed, and converted a 3-point play to extend the margin to 38-19 with 2:10 remaining.

Kenyon pulled within 38-26 after Brian Lebowitz opened the second half with a pair of free throws, but the Lords would not come closer than that until a Lebowitz lay-in brought the visitors within 76-65 with :44 to play in the game.  Freshman guard Jon Griggs (Cincinnati/Indian Hill) missed a pair of free throws, and Pavlin drove for a lay-in that closed the gap to 76-67 with :33 left.

Freshman win Ben Simpson (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) was fouled with :23 remaining, and sank both free throws to account for the 78-67 final.

Gray led the Bishops with 21 points, while Clark finished with 18 points and a team bests of 8 rebounds and 4 assists.  Rogers scored 12 points and Rieger added 10.

Lebowitz paced Kenyon with 23 points.
