Box Score
Ohio Wesleyan 1, Kenyon 1

Junior midfielder Adam Yingling (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) scored to even the game at 1-1, but neither the second half nor 2 overtime periods could determine a winner, and 22nd/25th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan and 16th/8th-ranked Kenyon played to a deadlock in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Wednesday in Gambier.

Kenyon had the first scoring chance of the contest, but Brice Koval's shot was cleared away from the goal mouth by the Bishop defense just over 3 minutes into the action.

The Lords took the lead midway through the first half when John Penas fired a shot that junior goalkeeper J.P. Baughman (Westerville/Columbus St. Francis DeSales) saved, and Philippe Stengel was there to head home the rebound.  The goal was the first allowed by Baughman and the Bishops during the month of October.

Ohio Wesleyan answered in the 34th minute when Yingling lined up for a free kick and put the ball into the lower left corner of the Kenyon goal.

Baughman stopped a header by Luke Muther in the 39th minute to preserve the deadlock.

The Bishops threatened during the final seconds of the half when a shot by sophomore forward Ben Sobotka (Dublin/Jerome) was blocked, giving Ohio Wesleyan a corner kick.  The Bishops got the ball in play, but a shot by sophomore midfielder Drew Wivell (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) was blocked just before the horn.

Baughman denied another shot by Penas in the 47th minute, and Kenyon keeper Ian McInturf made a couple of saves later in the half, stopping drives by Yingling and junior back Brady Whittekind (Hilliard/Bradley)

Ohio Wesleyan had a chance in the 81st minute as freshman forward Dom Calabrese (Beavercreek) had a shot blocked by the Lord defense.  Calabrese got to the loose ball first, but his follow shot was cleared off the line by the Kenyon defense.

Baughman stopped a pair of shots by Sam Carson to keep the game at 1-1, first on a header in the 82nd minute and then on a shot in the 83rd minute.

The Lords had the only dangerous chance during the first overtime period, but Baughman snared a header by Sam Hosmer-Quint after a Kenyon corner kick in the 97th minute.  The teams combined for 1 shot during the second overtime period.

Kenyon outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 29-12.  Baughman finished with 7 saves for Ohio Wesleyan.  McInturf recorded 2 saves for the Lords.
