Sophomore midfielder Ryan Huelsman (Powell/Columbus St. Charles) had a chance to make it 2-0 in the 28th minute, but his header off a Gomez crossing pass was wide right.
The Panthers had an opportunity late in the first half, earning a pair of corner kicks during the final 30 seconds of play, but the Bishop defense did not allow a shot.

Gomez made it a 2-0 game in the 56th minute when he made a short run and fired a hard shot from the right side.

"I thought Hanover responded very well after their loss last night," said Bishop head coach Jay Martin. "I was impressed that they kept fighting until the end, but our guys held their composure and did what they had to do. We missed a ton of chances, and we'll have to address that."
