Box Score
Wabash 80, Ohio Wesleyan 68

Freshman wing Gabe Johnson (Chicago, Ill./Wheaton St. Francis) drilled a 3-pointer to bring Ohio Wesleyan within a single point, but 11th-ranked Wabash pulled away with a 12-3 run and went on to a North Coast Athletic Conference win over the Bishops on Wednesday in Crawfordsville, Ind.

Johnson's 3-pointer brought the Bishops within 62-61 with 6:21 left in regulation time, but Wabash's Harrison Hallstrom countered with a lay-in on the Little Giants' ensuing possession.  The hosts added a bucket by Jack Davidson and a 3-pointer from Alex Eberhard, and a lay-in from Kellen Schreiber and a Hallstrom jumper closed out the run, which left Wabash with a 74-64 lead with 1:20 remaining.

Freshman wing Ethan Stanislawski (Massilon/Jackson) answered with a pair of free throws at the 1:12 mark, but that was as close as the Bishops would come.

Ohio Wesleyan led for most of the first half, taking an early 8-2 advantage with the help of 3-pointers from Stanislawski and junior post Grant Gossard (Westerville/Olentangy Orange).  A 3-pointer from junior guard Jaret Gerber (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) gave the Bishops a 20-13 lead at the 12:07 mark.

The Little Giants chipped away at the deficit and took the lead on a pair of Eberhard free throws with 8:05 left in the half, but the Bishops would break a 33-33 tie on a Johnson 3-pointer to lead at the half, then opened the second stanza with a lay-in from freshman guard Curtis White (Lawrenceburg, Ind.).

Wabash scored the next 10 points, with Hallstrom collecting 8 of those, but the Bishops stayed close, coming back to take a 47-46 lead on a Johnson jumper, then going up, 58-57, on a pair of Gossard free throws with 7:59 remaining.

Tyler Watson converted a 3-point play to put Wabash ahead to stay, and Hallstrom followed with a lay-in that put the Little Giants ahead, 62-58, with 6:46 to play.

Johnson led the Bishops with 19 points.  Gossard finished with 17 points and a team-high 7 rebounds, and Stanislawski scored 11 points.

Davidson tallied 23 points for Wabash.
