Junior forward Ashley Smiley (Delaware/Hayes) broke a scoreless tie and Ohio Wesleyan would go on to add 2 more goals on the way to a non-conference win over Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday in Berea.

Each team had 3 shots during the first half.  Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Floyd (Wilton, Conn.) turned away a Kenna Stones shot in the 19th minute, while Yellow Jacket keeper Emma Bruno saved a Smiley shot in the 33rd minute and the Yellow Jacket defense cleared a shot by junior defender Cami Lykins (Westerville/North) off the line in the 44th minute.

Smiley put the Bishops on the board in the 49th minute after an Ohio Wesleyan corner kick.  Freshman defender Isabella Geiler (Cincinnati/Mercy McAuley) was credited with an assist on the play.

Ohio Wesleyan was awarded a penalty kick in the 54th minute, and junior midfielder Kortney McGinnis (Grove City/Central Crossing) stepped to the spot and converted the kick to increase the margin to 2-0.

Floyd preserved the lead with a save of a Kenna Poptic shot in the 56th minute, and a follow shot by Kayla Webb was stopped by the Bishop defense.

Sophomore forward Julia Dickman (Marysville) wrapped up the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with an unassisted goal in the 86th minute.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Baldwin Wallace, 11-9.  Floyd finished with 4 saves in the Bishop goal.  Bruno recorded 6 saves for the Yellow Jackets.
