Wittenberg scored twice in each half on the way to a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday at the Jay Martin Soccer Complex.

Junior Emma Hall (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Central) made 3 saves to keep the game scoreless, stopping shots by Maddie Smith in the 14th minute, Grace Nation in the 16th minute, and Smith again in the 22nd minute.

The Tigers took the lead in the 27th minute when Brooke Peters fielded a throw-in at the top left corner of the penalty area, whirled and made a short run, then centered the ball to Smith, who redirected the ball into the top right corner.

Just over a minute later, Smith returned the favor by slotting a through ball to Peters, who lofted a 25-yard shot past an onrushing Hall and into the unprotected goal with 17:15 left in the period.

Early in the second half, junior midfielder Kortney McGinnis (Grove City/Central Crossing) sent a through ball to junior forward Ashley Smiley (Delaware/Hayes), who got off a shot from the top of the box, but Corbin dove to her left to make the save.

Wittenberg added to its lead in the 71st minute when Cassidy Webber sent the ball into the box from the left end line.  Hall was there to punch the ball away from the goal line, but Alix Steele got to the loose ball and put it into the back of the net to make it 3-0.

About 2 minutes later, a foul was called on Ohio Wesleyan, giving the Tigers a free kick from near the left sideline.  Maria Miller launched the ball into the center of the penalty area, and Emily Wile's header snuck under the crossbar for a 4-0 Wittenberg lead.

Wittenberg outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 20-14.  Hall stopped 4 shots for the Bishops.  Corbin finished with 6 saves in the Tiger goal.
