Men's Soccer Named "Program That Inspires"

The Ohio Wesleyan University men's soccer team was selected as a "Program That Inspires" by College Athletic Advisor, it was announced by College Athletic Advisor.

Ohio Wesleyan was ranked No. 4 among the 20 institutions selected from more than 1200 colleges and universities outside of NCAA Division I.  Rankings were based on a subjective assessment of student experience in four areas:  holistic development of student-athletes in the institution, academic achievement & support for the academic success of student-athletes, overall college experience for participants within the program, and affordability/graduation rates/student satisfaction.

Ohio Wesleyan has made an NCAA-record 41 Division III playoff appearances and 47 overall NCAA playoff appearances.  The Battling Bishops won NCAA Division III national championships in 1998 and 2011, have made 10 appearances in the national semifinals, and have finished among the top 16 teams a total of 29 times.

Ohio Wesleyan head coach Jay Martin is the winningest coach in NCAA men's soccer history with a total of 723 wins.  He is the first men's soccer coach in any NCAA division to reach the 700-win mark.  His career winning percentage of .803 ranks 11th all-time in the NCAA.
