Box Score
DePauw 24, Ohio Wesleyan 7

Senior quarterback Zane Ries (Barberton) found senior wide receiver Kenny Streb (Willowick/Eastlake North) on a 2-yard touchdown pass that put Ohio Wesleyan on the scoreboard, but DePauw went on to record a North Coast Athletic Conference win over the Bishops on Saturday in Greencastle, Ind.

Ohio Wesleyan moved the ball into DePauw territory on 4 of its first 5 possessions, but the Bishops could not carry that momentum over to the scoreboard.  After a first down at the DePauw 35 midway through the first quarter, Ohio Wesleyan ended up punting from the Tiger 30.  On the next possession, the Bishops picked up a first down at the DePauw 17 on a 12-yard strike from Ries to junior wide receiver J.T. Dozier (Dayton/Huber Heights Wayne), but Streb was tripped up for a loss of 5, and a penalty and a sack ended up moving Ohio Wesleyan out of field goal range.

Ries was intercepted by Daniel Rafeedie at the DePauw 27 to end the Bishops' next drive, and Ohio Wesleyan ended its next drive with a punt from the DePauw 39.

Meanwhile, the Bishop defense was equal to the challenge,  allowing only one first down during the first quarter and then stopping Tiger running back Drew Moore for no gain on a fourth-and-2 call from the Bishop 47 early in the second period.

The Tigers took the lead when Chase Andries connected with Jaylon Smith on a 73-yard play with 1:48 left before halftime.

Andreis found Trey Shaw on a 64-yard play in the third quarter, setting up a first down at the Ohio Wesleyan 18-yard line.  Gus Baumgartner then carried the ball on 4 straight plays, going over from 1 yard out to extend the margin to 14-0.  A 21-yard field goal by Joe Sullivan gave the Tigers a 17-0 lead midway through the fourth period.

Ries found Dozier for 49 yards on third-and-20 from the OWU 10, then connected with senior wide receiver Kofi Ansah-Tutu (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) for 12 yards and with sophomore wide receiver Jay Hines (Covington, Ga./Newton) for 19 more and a first down at the Tiger 10-yard line.  On first-and-goal from the DePauw 2, Ries delivered to Streb for a touchdown with 4:40 remaining.

DePauw recovered the ensuing onside kick at the Bishop 44 and drove for an insurance score, with Baumgartner going over from 13 yards out with 2:57 to play.

Ries completed 28 of 51 passes for 298 yards and a touchdown.  Dozier snared 9 passes for 141 yards.  Senior linebacker Cody Streit (Griffin, Ga.) led Ohio Wesleyan with 12 tackles.

Andries completed 12 of 23 throws for 260 yards and a score.  Smith had 4 catches for 134 yards and a touchdown.  Baumgartner ran for 109 yards on 20 carries.  Liam Pooler made 6 tackles for DePauw.
