Junior outside hitter Eliza Richardson (Lakewood), sophomore outside hitter Kaitlyn Peters (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead), and freshman middle blocker Claire Solberg (Huron) each recorded double-digit efforts in kills, but DePauw came from behind to defeat Ohio Wesleyan in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Saturday in Greencastle, Ind.

The Tigers won the match by scores of 25-20, 8-25, 19-25, 29-27, 15-10.

DePauw moved to an 11-4 lead in the first set, collecting a pair of kills from Jessica Levy along the way.  A late 5-0 run that included kills from sophomore defensive specialist Neah White (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) and freshman outside hitter Natalie Buravlov (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) helped the Bishops close to within 22-18, but Levy closed out the set with a kill.

Richardson recorded a pair of kills and freshman setter Olivia Osuna (Orlando, Fla./Phillips) added 2 aces during a 7-0 burst to open the second set.  Sophomore outside hitter Melissa Murray (Chardon/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) and Solberg teamed up on a block that made it 13-2, and Richardson added 2 more kills during a 7-2 run that extended the margin to 21-5.  That momentum carried over into the third set, with Solberg contributing a kill and a block and Richardson ringing up 2 kills during a 6-0 spurt that broke a 4-4 tie and gave the Bishops the lead for good.  Richardson, Murray, and Peters each had kills to help Ohio Wesleyan finish off the set and take a 2-1 lead in the match.

Ohio Wesleyan had taken a 19-16 lead in the fourth set with the help of a Richardson kill, but the Tigers came back to even the score at 19 on back-to-back kills from Katie Gansle, and the teams traded points until DePauw scored twice to break a 27-27 tie, with another Gansle kill providing the deciding point and forcing a fifth set.  The Bishops wiped out a 6-3 deficit in the fifth set, tying the set at 6 on a Peters kill.  Ohio Wesleyan was still within 10-9 after a Solberg kill, but Gansle had a kill and a block during a 3-0 burst that gave DePauw a 13-9 lead, and Ashley Haas had a kill before teaming up with Gansle on a match-ending block.

Richardson led Ohio Wesleyan with 16 kills, while Peters added 12 and Solberg finished with 10.  Sophomore setter Abby Thierauf (Cincinnati/Milford) had a team-high 23 assists.  Freshman middle blocker Ava Kutilek (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) posted 5 blocks and White was credited with 26 digs.
