Five Ohio Wesleyan University women's soccer players were named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference teams, it was announced today.
Junior defender Isabella Geiler (Cincinnati/Mercy McAuley) was a second-team All-NCAC selection, and senior goalkeeper Taylor Floyd (Wilton, Conn.), freshman midfielder Ryan O'Neill (Cincinnati/Maineville Little Miami), junior defender Ellie Redman (Dublin/Coffman), and freshman forward Makayla Watkins (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) were honorable mention All-NCAC picks.
Geiler, Redman, and Floyd were starters on an Ohio Wesleyan defense that allowed only 17 goals on the season, tying for second in the NCAC, and ranks second in the conference with a goals-against average of 0.90. Floyd leads the league with an .853 saves percentage and ranks second in the league with 9 wins, 81 saves, and a goals-against average of 0.83. Redman was an honorable mention All-NCAC choice in 2019.
O'Neill, a defensive midfielder, was a catalyst in transition for the Bishops this season.
Watkins led the Bishops with 8 goals and 3 assists for 19 points. Her 8 goals is tied for third in the NCAC, and her 19 points ranks fourth among conference players.
Ohio Wesleyan finished the season with a 9-5-4 record, including a 4-3-1 mark in NCAC competition, good for fifth place in the conference standings.
