Box Score
Wisconsin-Eau Claire 58, Ohio Wesleyan 50

Senior post Grant Spicer (Cincinnati/Lakota East) scored to give Ohio Wesleyan the lead, but Wisconsin-Eau Claire took the lead with a 21-2 run and went on to a win during the second day of the BSN Winter Classic, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Friday in Oshkosh, Wis.

Ohio Wesleyan had taken an early 8-3 lead behind a 3-point play and a 3-pointer from junior wing Tony Carter (Cleveland/Parma Heights Holy Name) and a lay-in from sophomore guard Henry Hinkle (Powell/Olentangy Liberty), but Wisconsin-Eau Claire got a lay-in from David Ijadimbola and a 3-point play from Brock Voigt to even the score at 8.

Spicer's lay-in broke the 8-8 tie and gave the Bishops a 10-8 lead with 14:35 remaining in the first half.

Voigt converted a 3-point play and sank a lay-up as the Blugolds scored the next 7 points, and after another Spicer lay-in, UW-EC ran off 14 consecutive points, including 2 more buckets by Voigt and 3-pointers by Cade Hall and Drew Maloney.

Junior post Cole Metzler (Canal Winchester) closed out the first half with a pair of lay-ins to close the deficit to 33-18, but the Blugolds extended the margin to 20 points early in the second half when a Maloney free throw made it a 47-27 game.

Ohio Wesleyan scored the final 11 points of the game, with sophomore post Landon Turnbull (Hicksville) hitting a 3-pointer and a lay-in during that run, to account for the 58-50 final.

Spicer led the Bishops with 11 points, and junior wing David Rice (Brook Park/Parma Padua Franciscan) and senior wing Jack Clement (Bellefontaine) shared the team lead with 5 rebounds apiece.

Clement represented the Bishops on the all-tournament team.
