Sophomore forward Avery Maxeiner (Sunbury/Big Walnut) scored the game's only goal to lift Ohio Wesleyan over Westminster in the second round of the Westminster Invitational, hosted by Westminster College on Sunday in New Wilmington, Pa.

Maxeiner scored in the 78th minute, sending a shot into the lower right corner.

Ohio Wesleyan had enjoyed a 6-5 edge in shots during the first half, but freshman Natalie Ryan (Beavercreek/Dayton Carroll) made 4 saves and Titan keeper Morgan Murphy stopped 3 shots in keeping the game scoreless.

Junior midfielder Jaelyn Dodson (Cincinnati/West Clermont) had a look at an insurance goal in the 83rd minute, but Morgan made the save.

Ryan stopped a shot by Westminster's Natalie Vilchek in the closing seconds to preserve the 1-0 lead.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Westminster, 11-8.  Ryan finished with 5 saves for the Bishops.
