Senior wing Jack Clement (Bellefontaine) scored 5 consecutive points to turn a 2-point Ohio Wesleyan lead into a 7-point margin, and the Bishops went on to take a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Oberlin on Saturday in Oberlin.

Oberlin had broken a 55-55 tie with a basket by Andrew Gannon with 6:00 left in regulation time, but junior wing Tony Carter (Cleveland/Parma Heights Holy Name) buried a 3-pointer to put the Bishops ahead to stay, and Clement followed with a 3-pointer for a 61-57 Bishop lead with 4:58 remaining.

Ohio Wesleyan still led, 63-61, after a pair of free throws by Oberlin's Yuuki Okubo when Clement answered with a jumper and then hit a 3-pointer to extend the margin to 68-61 at the 2:49 mark.

The Bishops were up, 70-63, after a pair of free throws from senior post Grant Spicer (Cincinnati/Lakota East) with :47 to go, but the Yeomen rallied to within 72-69 with a pair of 3-pointers by Dorde Otasevic, the latter with :18 remaining, and Clement sank a pair of free throws with :17 left to wrap up the day's scoring.

Oberlin opened the game with an 8-0 burst, with Otasevic scoring a pair of buckets, and the Yeomen would lead by as many as 9 points, with a jumper by Anastasis Spyroglou making it a 14-5 game at the 14:39 mark of the half.

Ohio Wesleyan went on a 12-2 run to take the lead, with Spicer and sophomore guard Henry Hinkle (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) connecting on 3-pointers during that stretch, but Oberlin came back with a 9-2 run that included a pair of baskets from Asaan Snipes-Rea to go up, 27-21.

The Yeomen still led, 45-38, early in the second half when the Bishops came back to tie the score with a 3-pointer by junior wing Reece Mitchell (Wooster) and a 4-point play by Hinkle, and it would remain a one-possession game until the 3-pointers by Carter and Clement.

Clement led the Bishops with 25 points and 7 assists, and Hinkle finished with 22 points.  Carter grabbed a team-leading 10 rebounds.
