Chicago 2, Ohio Wesleyan 1

Sophomore forward Rowan Kriebel (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) gave Ohio Wesleyan the lead with a first-half goal, but Chicago's Ryan Yetishefsky scored a pair of second-half goals, including the game-winner with :44 left in regulation time, to give the Maroons a win over the Bishops in a second-round contest of the NCAA Division III tournament on Sunday in Chicago.

With the game in the final minute of regulation time, Chicago's Robbie Pino fielded a pass and made a run up the right side, then centered the ball to Yetishefsky, who redirected it into the top right corner of the goal.

Ohio Wesleyan had a couple of chances in the early going, first in the 14th minute when junior forward Franklin Rodriguez (Santiago, Dominican Republic/Berkshire (Mass.)) came up with a loose ball and sent a 25-yard shot just high, and then just over a minute later when sophomore forward Christopher Guerra (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) took a free kick from just outside the penalty area and saw Maroon keeper Will Boyes make a diving save.

Chicago answered in the 17th minute with a drive by Yetishefsky, with senior goalkeeper Mason Taylor (Marysville) making a diving save.  In the 26th minute, Chicago had a corner kick that Jack Leuker put on goal, with Taylor batting the ball over the crossbar.

In the 33rd minute, Guerra tapped the ball ahead to Kriebel on the right side, and Kriebel made a run up the sideline, cut in, and fired a shot from a difficult angle that got past Boyes and into the goal.

Taylor made a save on a shot by Danny Mendoza in the 44th minute, and the first half ended with the Bishops up, 1-0.

Guerra had a look at an insurance goal in the 65th minute, but his 30-yard free kick sailed just outside the left post.

The Maroons evened the game in the 72nd minute.  David Martin crossed the ball in to Yetishefsky, who headed it toward the Bishop goal, but Taylor made a diving save to preserve the lead.  The ball bounced off the left post and right back to Yetishefsky, who tipped it into the goal.

Ohio Wesleyan had a couple of chances at the go-ahead score in the 82nd minute when Guerra laid the ball off for junior midfielder Landon Kuhn (Lewis Center/Olentangy), whose shot hit the crossbar and remained in play.  Senior forward Jaggar Brooker (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) got to the rebound, but his follow shot was blocked and the ball again remained in play, and the Maroons were able to clear.

Chicago outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 23-11.  Taylor recorded 7 saves in the Bishop goal.
