Ohio Wesleyan University freshman Natalie Dieball (Cincinnati/Lakota East) won a special award as part of the All-North Coast Athletic Conference volleyball teams, it was announced today.
Dieball, an outside hitter, was named NCAC Newcomer of the Year and was a first-team All-NCAC selection.
Dieball was joined on the All-NCAC first team by senior middle blocker Claire Solberg (Huron). Senior right-side hitter Melissa Murray (Chardon/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) was a second-team All-NCAC choice.
Dieball leads the NCAC in points (3.70/set) and ranks second in kills (3.09/set) and 14th in service aces (0.39/set) and digs (2.66/set).
Solberg leads the NCAC in blocks (0.90/set) and hitting percentage (.340) and ranks 13th in points (2.61/set). Solberg was a first-team all-conference pick for the second consecutive season.
Murray ranks ninth in the conference in points (2.79/set), 10th in kills (2.50/set), and 13th hitting percentage (.226). Murray was a second-team All-NCAC choice for the third straight season.
Ohio Wesleyan is 20-8 on the season. The Bishops went 6-1 in NCAC matches and finished in second place in the conference standings.
