Senior midfielder Jaelyn Dodson (Cincinnati/West Clermont) scored to give Ohio Wesleyan a 1-0 lead, but Kalamazoo got the equalizer and the teams played to a tie on Friday in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Dodson converted a penalty kick in the 10th minute to put the Bishops on the scoreboard.

The Hornets tied the game on Olivia DePaul's goal in the 31st minute, with Callie Abair credited with an assist on the play.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Kalamazoo, 7-2, during the second half, but Hornet keeper Elana Mitchell stopped 5 shots during the period to preserve the tie.

The Bishops finished with a 10-4 edge in shots.  Sophomore Natalie Ryan (Beavercreek/Dayton Carroll) had 1 save during the first 66-plus minutes in the Bishop goal, and senior Abby Markley (Westerville/North) was not tested during the final 23 minutes.
