John Carroll's Sara Gennuso scored in the 35th minute to lift the Blue Streaks over Ohio Wesleyan in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday in University Heights.

Junior midfielder Ryan O'Neill (Cincinnati/Maineville Little Miami) had a pair of looks at the JCU goal, but Blue Streak keeper Madeline Martin Koiser made a save in the 19th minute and a John Carroll defender stopped a shot in the 27th minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Natalie Ryan (Beavercreek/Dayton Carroll) kept the game scoreless in the 30th minute, denying a shot by Emily Patrzyk.

The Blue Streaks took the lead on Gennuso's goal with 10:04 left in the opening half.  Abby Walker and Alli Malinky were credited with assists on the play.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot John Carroll, 14-12.  Ryan recorded 3 saves in the Bishop goal.
