Freshman outside hitter Natalie Dieball (Cincinnati/Lakota East) and senior right-side hitter Melissa Murray (Chardon/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) led the Ohio Wesleyan offense as the Bishops posted a non-conference win over Capital on Wednesday in Columbus.

The Bishops defeated the Comets by scores of 25-20, 20-25, 25-21, 25-19.

Ohio Wesleyan led, 19-18, in the first set when the Bishops finished off the set with a 6-2 run, with senior middle blocker Claire Solberg (Huron) recording a kill and a set-ending solo block.  The Bishops wiped out a 20-15 deficit in the second set, getting kills from Dieball and Solberg and back-to-back aces by senior outside hitter Kaitlyn Peters (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) to even the score at 20, but Capital scored the final 5 points, closing out the set with 3 straight aces by Larissa Smith.  The third set was another nailbiter, with Capital closing to within 22-19 on consecutive kills by Lindsay Rich, but Murray delivered a pair of kills down the stretch to give the Bishops a 2-1 lead in the match.  In the fourth set, Ohio Wesleyan took the lead for good with a 6-0 run that included 2 kills and an ace by Murray, and Murray later came back with a kill and teamed up with Solberg for a match-ending block.

Dieball led the Bishops with 15 kills, while Murray finished with 13.  Solberg recorded 8 kills with no errors in 10 attempts for an .800 hitting percentage, tying for second place on the Bishop single-match list.

Sophomore setter Lily Bechina (Chicago, Ill./Jones College Prep) collected 37 assists and led Ohio Wesleyan with 12 digs.  Solberg notched a team-best 5 blocks.
