Junior forward Ava Bruns (Delaware/Hayes) scored the game's only goal to lift Ohio Wesleyan over Oberlin in a North Coast Athletic Conference contest on Sunday in Oberlin.

Oberlin had the first scoring chance on Averi Williams' shot in the fourth minute, but junior goalkeeper Natalie Ryan (Beavercreek/Dayton Carroll) was there for the save.

Meanwhile, Oberlin keeper Ali Grant stopped shots by Bruns in the 10th minute and junior midfielder Tiffany Trinh (Dublin/Scioto) in the 14th minute and would go on to make 2 more saves during the period.

Ohio Wesleyan took the lead in the opening minutes of the second half when Bruns intercepted a clearing pass, broke in on Grant, and scored.

Ryan denied another Williams shot just over a minute after the Bishops took the lead, and saved drives from Williams in the 84th minute and Sophia Timm-Blow in the 88th minute.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Oberlin, 14-12.  Ryan recorded 5 saves in completing the shutout.
